The SOCOM II, made by the Springfield Armory, is a great secondary weapon for any combat carry. It has a compact build and is quite lightweight for what it has to offer. The biggest advantage comes from it's reliability and accuracy. This makes it a great weapon to use at longer ranges before you pull out your assault rifle and close the gap to the enemy.
The biggest disadvantage is the small magazine capacity. It has a standard mag size of only 10 rounds, however this is offset by the fact that you are firing 7.62 round ammo, so the stopping power is there.
The bottom line is the SOCOM II is an effective and useful weapon for combat situations, I would certainly carry one as a secondary weapon for engaging targets at a distance. However I would not carry it as my primary combat weapon. This must be the reason why it is used as a SOCOM sniper rifle.
All in all, this is a VERY durable weapon, much like an AK47. It can be submerged, muddy, etc. and you won't have a problem. On top of that, the accuracy is MUCH better than the AK47. If you have some money to spend on your weapons stash and can find one for under $1,000, don't pass this one up!
